U12s v Broxbourne

This was a game we had to win to get through to the Qtr Final stage and having chosen to bat we Edward and Zain started steadily enough without really being able to push the scoring along but when Zain was caught for 15 our batting seemed to collapse with Matthew C, Sam, Will and Samuel all out cheaply. Edward retired on 31 not out, having been dropped 3 times and Griff hit a couple of boundaries before running himself out so it was left to Matthew L to accelerate the score hitting 3 fours in 20 not out and we closed on 112-6.
Our bowling started very well restricting the Broxbourne batting to a few singles or extras and they never looked likely to reach their target. The wicket takers were Matthew L, Sam, Adam, George and Edward all taking 1 wicket each plus a run out from Zain so their innings finished on 82-6, 30 runs short.
We now need to wait for the final games tomorrow before we learn who we play in the Qtr Final - suffice to say we will need to improve on this performance to get to Finals Day.
