U12s v St Margaretsbury

We lost the toss and were asked to bowl first and started well with Samuel and Toby keeping things tight and Toby was rewarded with a plumb LBW decision in his 3rd over. The 2 batsman in then proceeded to accumulate a decent total with both of them retiring having reached 30 not out. Griff bowled very tightly picking up 2 wickets in his 4 overs and we managed to contain them to 120-3 with Matthew, Robert and James all bowling well, but again we did give them 27 extras (mainly wides, no balls & byes)
The opposition bowling and fielding proved far too accurate and skilful for our batting with only Liam (26) making it to double figures and we were always well behind the rate required and we fell away at the end to 67 all out in 19 overs with them not actually bowling a single wide. Fortunately for us this team was beaten by Hoddesdon once and Hertford twice so a win in our final game next week will mean we make the Qtr finals - let's hope we can improve our performance to make that happen.
