U12s Home to Broxbourne

BSCC dominated this match from the moment we won the toss and batted first with rapid contributions from Sam (22), Edward (17) and Matthew (32no) only slowed by 2 silly run outs. Thomas made 8 and Jack 1 with Vishal ending 5 not out and Griff hitting 2 late boundaries in his 14 not out adding up to an imposing 136-4 at the close.
Bertie started their reply by clean bowling the opener first ball, followed by Adam producing a lovely swinging delivery to remove the No3. James then picked up 2 wickets with catches from Matthew and Edward and Robert finished his spell by bowling their dangerous batsman for 24. Thomas joined the party bowling the next man but celebrations hit a new high when Jack took 2 wickets in successive deliveries and on a hat trick the batsman jammed the ball against the base of the stumps but did not knock off the bails. It was left to Sam to remove the last batsman with his 4th ball giving us victory by 59 runs. There will be tougher games to come but this result was a very positive one with every player contributing.
