BSCC U14A started solidly at North Enfield tonight, with us batting first on a green deck. We lost skipper Charlie Laking early to an excellent delivery, before Thomas Greenhill (40*) and Henry Hawkins (41*) put on 75 runs together in an excellent partnership. Thomas was the early aggressor hitting five 4s and a fantastic 6 straight over the bowler head. Henry Hawkins built his innings steadily before a flurry of classy boundaries in the latter half of his innings. Ben Foster came in and finished the innings nicely with 25*.
In response, Ben Warren once again set the tone, following his 3-8 in the warm up game with 2-0 in this game (giving him figures of 5 wickets for 8 runs in 5 overs this season so far!). Everyone bowled well today with a wicket a piece for Charlie Laking and Thomas Greenhill too. North Enfield's number 4 batted very well retiring on 40* but we did well to make him work for his runs. We also fielded well too getting 3 run outs, including an excellent throw from Bertie Warnes.
We now look forward to welcoming Sawbo on Monday afternoon!
