BSCC U15s too Powerful against Herts

BSCC won the toss and decided to bat in good light again.

After losing an early wicket, Matt F (23) and James F (45ret) got to work dismantling the opposition bowling. Although, the bowling was quite aggressive, with one player bowling 3 bouncers in a row over Matt's head, so I had to have a word (or two)! Also, a solid performance by Evan B (21) and Sam S (31no), kept up the onslaught to end the innings at a mammoth 173/4 off our 20 overs.

Confidence was high, as Harrison put the icing on, by running out their opener in the first over. However, their number 3 classy batter, C Abell, looked comfortable, even against James' quick deliveries. He hit a huge 6, to also retire on 45. But, there was no further resistance and Hertford capitulated on 114/8 off their 20 overs. Pick of the bowlers were, Sam S (2o-1r-3w), Luca B (3o-18r-2w), Tom C (1o-2r-1w) and Will S (2o-23r-1w).

A good win, but no time to celebrate, as we have our second round National cup match tomorrow, away at Ickleford.
