The U15 A team won the toss last night and batted first. Ben Foster (14) and Henry Hawkins (24) both got solid starts whilst the B team bowled steadily at them, with the wickets falling to Charlie Fair and Euan Hardie. Austin Osborne and Ben Warren both came in struck the ball very cleanly, with Austin falling for a quick fire 35, and Ben Warren retiring with a rapid 40* including an absolutely massive 6. Zac Saunders was the only other batter to make double figures with 18.
There were late wickets for TJ Tyndall, Joel Bagnall and Fraser Hardie and a run out for Will Steward who did well keeping despite a knock to the face.
The A team finished with 182-6 in their 20 overs.
In response, the B Team lost an early wicket with Charlie Laking getting TJ Tyndall. Jamie Ward and Ollie Foot then put on an excellent 75 run partnership in 11 overs, with Jamie Ward retiring for a well earned 41*. Ollie Foot (26) didn’t retire as he was excellently caught by Henry Hawkins at cover off Ethan Baker. There was then a bit of a collapse as 4 of the next 5 batters fell for ducks, with 2 wickets for George Howes and one for Bertie Warnes. That included an excellent stumping from stand in keeper Ben Foster.
In the end, the B team finished with 122-6 in their 20 overs which was a very decent effort with the bat!
The A team now head into a flurry of fixtures with games next Thursday, Friday, Sunday (potentially) and Monday.
The B team’s next game is away to WGC on Tuesday.
