The U15 A team went away to Reed last night in their first game of the season and out on an excellent all round performance.
We won the toss and batted first, with all our top 6 getting solid starts. Henry H, Austin O, Ben F, Harry P and Thomas G all scored between 10-20 but it looked as if no one would go on, until skipper Ben Warren came in. He hit a dominant 40* (retired) off 27 balls which drove us to a strong score of 150-6 on a slow pitch.
With the ball, everyone bowled excellently and we fielded well too, taking all our catches and run out opportunities. Wickets were split between Austin O, Ben W, Harry P, Ethan B and George H. Bertie Warnes also took his best ever figures of 2-0 off 2 overs. Reed finished on 68-8 off their 20 overs.
Overall it was a convincing team performance with bat, ball and field. The lads’ attitude was very good too, hopefully we can keep that up tomorrow for the double header at home.
