It has been a very successful season for the Development XI with 8 excellent games, although we did unfortunately lose 3 to rain…

We have seen 42 players play for the Dev XI this year ranging from 1st team skipper Tommy Burslem and overseas pro Jake Carder, all the way down to U13 twins Lewis and Austen Greenhill making their senior debuts.

We’ve had seniors from 1st - 4th XIs turn out to support the junior’s development, and it’s been great to see some dads get involved too! Our juniors have ranged from U13-U17 with some excellent performances on show throughout the season.

From an individual point of view, Matt Pike took the chance to up his club batting average and scored 152 runs in 3 innings steering the Dev XI to close losses each time…
Ollie Foot was the top scoring junior with 115 runs in 4 innings. There were 50s for Ollie Foot, George Lello, Will Dommett and James Frans.

George Howes was the top wicket taker with 5 wickets, whilst Ollie Foot, Cam Krauth, Fraser Hardie and George Lello took 4 wickets each.

Every game was a great experience for the lads and the senior players’ really contributed to that, so I want to say a big thank you to each club senior who played, in particular the captains who managed the games on the day!

We look forward to running the Dev XI again next year to provide more senior opportunities for our upcoming juniors!
