Our Development XI beat Thorley in an enjoyable game at the Thorley Oval on Sunday.
After the first Dev XI game was washed out without a conclusion at Stansted Hall & Elsenham, this game was quite the opposite, played in glorious sunshine.
Skipper Harry Olorenshaw won the toss with BSCC batting first, with Harry and James Frans retiring with excellent 50* each. There was also runs for Murray Davidson (28), Henry Carr (25 on senior debut), Josh Bailey (19) and Benjy Furrer (18), as BSCC finished with 217-8.
In response, Zac Ziepe bowled fantastically taking 3 wickets for just 7 runs on his senior debut! There was also wickets for George Howes, Andrew Barber (2), Ollie Foot and Henry Carr, as Thorley were 138 all out.
The full scorecard is available on Play-Cricket.
Overall, it was a great game with 4 players making their senior debuts for the club which is always great to see! A big thanks to Harry, Murray and Benjy who did a great job running the game and ensuring the lads had a fun time whilst learning how to play long format cricket.
We still have at least 5 more Development XI games so if anyone else is interested in helping the clubs juniors transition from junior to senior cricket, please let me know!
