U11 girls win against Sawbridgeworth

Our second match against Sawbridgeworth for the season on a lovely sunny day at home. The girls were captained by Poppy and we batted first after losing the toss. Some excellent batting from the girls with fours for Elsie, Emily (three) and Poppy. The girls really communicated well and made some excellent calls to see the runs slowly tot up. Three wickets in total with our final score of 311. Top scorers of the day were Emily (16 runs) and Poppy (10 runs).
Fielding is showing steady improvement with the girls being much more dynamic in the field. A number of fours were saved with some targeted running and the backing up was also much improved. Wickets taken by Elsie, Libby (two in a row) and Poppy, with an excellent throw in squarely hitting the stumps.
Thanks to Dave for umpiring and coaching (again!), it's much appreciated.
