The U11 girls faced a very strong Harpenden side on Sunday 12th June, with the opposition demonstrating very strong fielding and some fast accurate bowling.
The opposition batted first and capitalised on all opportunities taking lots of singles and hitting lots of boundaries despite our girls showing continued improvement in the accuracy of their bowling. An excellent catch by Maddie and run out by Lana saw Harpenden lose just 2 wickets. The U11 girls fielded well, areas to work on being backing up and accuracy of throw ins.
The opening pair for BSCC of Betsy and Elsie were unfortunate to lose 6 wickets in their 25 balls with some very strong fielding from the Harpenden side resulting in a number of run outs and catches. Top scorers for the day were Elena and Sophia with 7 runs apiece, but the girls found it hard to score runs with the very tight fielding.
All in all a hard fought game from the girls who despite a good performance but were ultimately beaten by the better team on the day, well done gilrs! Thanks to Paul for scoring and Andrew for umpiring.
