U11 girls v. Harpenden, 1/5/22

Stortford won the toss and elected to bowl. Harpenden’s opening pair got off to a good start taking 26 runs off the first two sets. After that we fought back with two successive wickets from Poppy and one soon after from Caty. Final wicket tally for Stortford was Poppy with an excellent 3 and 1 each for Elena, Caty and Maddie. All the girls bowled well but there is some room for improvement in keeping down those extras! In response Stortford got off to a steady start with a flurry of runs coming later in the innings. Poppy and Elena were the standout partnership of the day with 13 runs between them. In the end Harpenden were just too experienced. Brilliant effort from all the girls though for their first match of the 2022 season!
