U11 Girls lose a close game at Harpenden

Harpenden won the toss and chose to field on a cool damp Sunday morning. set a team goal of no dismissals and 10 runs per player we started slowly under the threat of strong Harpenden bowling, and runs remained a challenge other than Sami's 8 not out and extras really the only strong contributor to the score. However thanks to improved defence only conceding 4 wickets.
In reply Harpenden started strongly but were pegged back by Florence with her 1-6, then another good bowling display by Sami with 1-6. Going into the last 4 overs Harpenden were ahead but wickets could change the game. Evie and Mattie bowled really well to take 2 key wickets leaving the possibility of a win to be stolen in the final over with a wicket, but alas Harpenden survived and were deserved winners.
Player of the Match Sami McLeish 8 no and 1-6, and some excellent fielding.
