U11 girls storm to win at Redbourn

On a scorching hot day Stortford won the toss and chose to field first. Great opening bowling from Grace and Scarlett restricted Redbourn’s scoring in the early stages. This was followed up by some very accurate bowling by all of the girls. Highlights in the field included a brilliant caught and bowled wicket from Evie, a fantastic run out by Grace and some excellent wicket keeping from Elsie. Some big hitting from the final Redbourn pair got them to a challenging total of 282.

Grace and Mattie got Stortford off to a good start with some powerful blows and sharp running. Tight bowling from Redbourn made things tough but Elsie, Cate, Aggie and Amelia built up the score and defended their wickets well. Evie and Scarlett came to the crease with 38 needed in four overs, surely too much to ask?! But these two took no time getting going - a lovely four from Scarlett early in the first over, and then a ruthless display of power hitting from Evie that will have every team in the league quaking in fear! A brilliant win for the girls.
