For the 2nd fixture of the week, the U15 Girls travelled to Great Baddow near Chelmsford for their fixture in the Essex league. Stortford won the toss and batted first. An early wobble occurred with the loss of opening batter Zoe just four balls in, but the setback was short-lived. Poppy O’Toole's blistering 51 off 31 balls, supported by Emily Barnes' 30 and Beth Moore's 26, spurred Stortford to an impressive 145 in the 16-over match.
The home team struggled against the incisive bowling of Catherine and Emily. Lily Byford of Great Baddow fought valiantly to score 29 before succumbing to Megan Laws' bowling. Laws took three wickets for the evening, leaving Baddow reeling at 79 all out. The star of the bowling was Catherine Clune, who took four wickets with an outstanding economy of just 1.57, signalling another commanding win for Bishops Stortford.
