A friendly arranged with relatively close neighbours at High Roding, produced an excellent game played in a positive spirit. BSCC batted first and quickly had a set back of conceding 3 wickets. Apart from Elizabeth scoring 12 the next highest scorers scored 6 and although we only lost one more wicket we didn't score enough runs, finishing on 242 for 4.
In reply, High Roding started well and were batting steadily, only losing two weeks and with no balls + wides moved into the lead. Then suddenly the final pair lost 4 quick wickets to Millie (3-9) and Elizabeth (1-11), at it became a close game, High Roding just surviving 4 less wides and we would have won, so we need to keep working on consistently bowling straight and putting away the bad balls for runs.
Well done to Marie Surujbally who stepped up in age group and played really well - the best fielder, scoring 6 runs and bowling her overs for 7 runs.
