The U10s were put into bat and scored a very solid 283 without anyone getting into double figures. They looked after their wickets and ran. Boundaries were difficult on a slow outfield but the shot of the innings has to go to Sam T with a lovely flick off his legs through square leg for four.
The first Hertford batting pair started quickly looking for ones and twos very effectively and were ahead of us just before the end of the third over but at this point the wickets started tumbling. Harry took the first one then Thomas took two in his first hardball match over. Ridley also got his first hardball wicket. Harry, Thomas and Adi each took two wickets. Sam T and Joseph took three each. The bowling was overall very accurate with only 6 wides/no balls in the innings and it was too much for the later Hertford batters to cope with.
I was also really pleased to see players backing up in twos and threes almost every ball. There were a few byes but we got 3 run outs and I don't think there was a single overthrow run. Such a big improvement on the start of the season.
