George captained the side against his old club and elected to bat first.
After being out 12 times in our last game our batting improved massively last night losing only 1 wicket in 16 overs but unfortunately we lacked any attacking intent apart from 2 cover drives for 4 from Tate and Toby - nobody scored more than 6 runs so we ended on a modest 242-1 at the close. There is much work to do on strokeplay, calling and running.
Our bowling proved to be a massive disappointment as we bowled 34 wides!!! (we only have to bowl 96 deilveries in all) giving away 68 runs in extras. The highlights came from Jack getting his first wicket and Max clean bowling 2 players in 2 balls but then on the hat trick ball managed to bowl a wide. Thomas had no runs taken from his 2 overs apart from wides and James was hit for 1 boundary. Many thanks to Bertie for coming in at the last minute and batting well. Tate did a sterling job as wicketkeeper given the fact that nobody bowled straight and so North Enfield finished on 297-3 and won by 55 runs.
We will continue to work on bowling actions on Sunday morning as this is a major issue for many of this team.
