Having chosen to bowl first we started with Matthew who was very accurate along with Bertie who removed their opener with a good ball but sloppy fielding helped their strong pair hit a number of boundaries and get on top. Sam H and Will kept the runs under check and Griff bowled 4 tight overs and got his reward with a wicket in his last over but we were put to the sword somewhat as 50 runs came from the last 5 overs with only a run out from Robert in reply. The target of 135-3 looked a tall order at that stage.
Our start began disasterously as Will was run out without scoring and Toby was brilliantly caught in the same over - 2 for 0. Two overs later Sam was bowled for 1 with Tate and Matthew falling to good catches in next leaving us 18-5. George and Bertie were bowled cheaply leaving Griff and Robert to restore a bit of pride, Griff making 24 and Robert last man out for 13 leaving Adam stranded on 4 not out.
This makes the League table very open as we play the reverse fixture on Thursday so hopefully we can put in a better performance.
