A tough start to the season back in early May, saw the U13B's lose 13 wickets in their first game. We talked at length about 'protecting our wicket' in future matches and the team have followed this advice and bounced back quite superbly. Our last 3 games against Hatfield Hyde (twice) and Hertford have all heralded real improvements, as we have registered 3 victories and lost a total of just 13 wickets in total (in 3 games & 60 overs of batting!). A fantastic response from all involved.
Notable performances recently have come from:-
- Chris Davis - Key wickets last time out, runs this time. A great effort.
- Daniel Carlin - Offers a threat with both ball (pace & bounce) and the bat (some nice boundaries).
- Henry Lowe - "Mr Cricket" who plays the game with a fantastic spirit and continues to improve game by game.
- Oliver Aiken - 10 key runs yesterday with no loss of wicket.
- Mustafa Rizwan - 2 wickets with some good spin bowling.
- Daniel Pickup - Scoring plenty of runs along with some tight bowling.
- Daniel Reddington - Bowling continues to get better and an example in the field; a great recent run out.
- Rafa Moya-Estrella - Strong performances in all 3 disciplines.
- Dylan Thompson - excellent line and length in our first home win recently.
- Zach Coates - A good start to the season.
I could go on, as the improvements really are there for 'all to see'.
Keep up the great work team, 4 games still to play!
A personal thanks to Paul Davis and Andy Pickup for their recent support.
