U13B v Hitchin

Batting first Stortford managed to lose 12 wickets in their 20 overs and never really got going in this game. Rourke batted well for his 12 not out and late hitting from Josh with 19 were the highlights of a poor batting display - too many boys tried to hit straight balls to the leg side and were bowled. Our score of 232-12 was never going to be enough. Ollie, Padraig, Theo and Samuel took a wicket each and Theo also got a run out but we gave away 32 runs in wides as bowlers made it difficult for Caleb behind the stumps. The most disappointing thing was that our fielding was very sluggish as they took a lot of quick singles and we were very poor in stopping them and getting more run outs - this is why we do fielding drills in training so I guess we need to do more. Hitchin ended on 284-5.
