In the end it was a disappointing but exciting last ball loss in our opening league game. The Cokenach bowling was generally very strong including 4 older girls which restricted our scoring early on but Caleb struck a number of boundaries to push the score but is was Monty and Felix who were able to accelerate the score with Dexter adding useful runs at the death to take us to 94-6 at the close. The Cokenach openers batted steadily without being able to get ahead of the run rate and we managed to contain their batsmen with accurate bowling and good fielding so that they needed 15 off the last over but a combination of last over nerves, 2 no balls and poor field placing allowed them score heavily and hit the winning run off the last ball.
