The U13's lost in agonising fashion in the Semi Finals at the HJL Finals Day on Sunday, losing by just 3 runs to Harpenden.
Chasing a target of 110 to win, the boys fell just short.... meaning it's 3 consecutive seasons as Finals Day, but sadly it's 3 consecutive Semi Final defeats too.
Hemel Hempstead went on to beat Harpenden in the final itself. Harpenden needed just 6 runs from 12 balls with 5 wickets remaining to be crowned County Champions. . . yet ultimately lost by 1 run. We send our warmest congratulations to Hemel Hempstead for retaining the trophy.
As for us.... we finish joint 3rd yet again... and so once again the boys can be considered the "3rd best team in the whole of Hertfordshire".
But this defeat really hurts. We've come 'so near' again... yet 'so far'....
Most importantly the team have represented the club, the town and their parents in an exemplary manner at all times.
2024 anyone? We go again.
Thanks for your support.
