U13s v Broxbourne B

Overall this was a very disappointing display with bat and ball against Broxbourne's B side. The exception was Sam Shemwell who bowled 3 guys in an over and then virtually carried the batting on his own with a brilliant 33 not out. Unfortunately he had to retire with 10 runs needed and the last pair failed by 1 run in the last over. A lot of our bowling lacked accuracy all night giving them 30 runs in Wides & No balls which made a huge difference to their score which ended on 92-9 with 2 wickets for Alex and 1 for Luca, Daniel, William Sharman and Jack Clark. Yet again our batsmen, Sam apart, seem unable to defend a straight ball with 6 guys clean bowled and 3 others offering simple catches.
This was a game we should have won easily but they bowled better than we did and only gave 15 runs in wides & No balls.
