BSCC U13 A beat Broxbourne

BSCC U13 A best Broxbourne for the second time in 3 weeks last night.

One major difference for this match was the pitch. Last time it was an absolute road and easy to bat on, this time it was very sticky and was turning square.

We batted first losing 3 early wickets falling to 34-3 before an excellent 60 partnership between Zac Saunders (27) and Henry Hawkins (32) put us in a strong position. Thomas Greenhill helped finish it off with an outstanding straight 6 over the bowlers head. We finished with 127-8.

In response, we bowled excellently, with everyone bowling and fielding well. Wickets were shared by Lucas Dordoy, Omar Sain, Ben Foster and two each for Thomas Greenhill and Bertie Warnes. We also managed 3 run outs too. Broxbourne finished 95 all out in virtually pitch black conditions.

It was a very solid team performance, with my highlight being our excellent fielding, which, it’s fair to say, isn't always our strength. It shows the long fielding session we did last week paid off.
