For the second day running, the BSCC U13 Bs played excellently to secure another win.
Today, the skipper Jake Curtis decided to bat first which proved to be a good decision with solid scores throughout the innings. I told the boys I wanted real positivity in the batting today, which they all did very well. The highlights of the innings were Oscar Gouldson’s 27 (including a huge 6!), Charlie Fair’s 24* and Jake Curtis’ 18*. We finished with a very good total of 131-8 off our 20 overs.
Sawbo would’ve wanted to score early runs but couldn’t against our excellent opening bowlers, who set the tone by conceding just 4 runs off the first 4 overs, with Jake Curtis taking 3 wickets in that time to finish with extraordinary figuers of 2-1-3-1. There was also a fantastic direct hit run out from Herbie MacLeod in that period. All the rest of the bowlers bowled well, with the fielding being pretty good for the most part. There was a wicket a piece for Charlie Fair and Euan Hardie before Herbie MacLeod finished off the tail with 2 wickets to win us the game.
Sawbo had turned up one player short, however coincidentally Omar Sain, who wasn’t selected for today’s game, turned up to play so joined Sawbo for the day. He ended up one of their best payers taking 2 wickets and getting 14 runs.
For the second day running I was super impressed with the BSCC B team, fingers crossed we can keep these levels up for the remaining games this season!
