In the second U13 friendly tonight, the B team had to play through some light rain, which made the pitch a little skiddy, which led to the high number of wickets we had. The stumps took a pounding with 12 clean bowled.
It was very much a bowlers game with nearly as many wickets as runs at certain points! The two players to get to double figuers with the bat were Ollie Foot (15*) and George Lello (12), who both hit a couple of excellent boundaries each, but the highlight was an extraordinary 4 wickets in 5 balls for Oscar Gouldson, including a hat-trick!
Similarly to the previous friendly, there was serious work to be done on the fielding, which we’ll do in the next few training sessions.
It was a good run out for all the players, with everyone getting a good bat and everyone bowling 2 overs each, it seemed like all the players enjoyed themselves which was the aim. We are now looking forward to playing fixtures against local opposition soon!
