U13 win V Broxbourne

A really fine win for the u13 team on Tuesday evening at Broxbourne. Having elected to bat on a pretty good batting wicket, Matthew and Jake had a fine first wicket partnership of 50, with Jake making 30 off seven overs before retiring. In the middle order, Damien continues in a fine run of form and he made a swift 17 before playing on to his own wicket. Noah and Will D came together with five wickets down making 12 and 16 respectively in a very rapid spell of scoring. Towards the tail end of the innings, Charles hit 13 and Luke hit 17, making a great 31 partnership and both remaining not out.
With 147 for 6 on the board we always looked in control and Freddie and Harry opened the bowling, keeping the opposition pinned down. Freddie bowled a particularly effective 2 overs taking 2 wickets for only 1 run. The bowling was tight enough to keep the opposition to 43 runs at the half way point and the game was really in the bag from there.

Damien, Jake (2), Matthew, Charles, JP and Will D all chipped in with wickets and everyone should be very pleased with the way they bowled and fielded, giving the opposition no chance to really get in the game. Brendan even showed his fielding prowess wearing no shoes!!
