Victory against Broxbourne

We won the toss and elected to put Broxbourne into bat. We are blessed with all our players being able to bowl well, and we really showed that tonight. We cut down on some of the extras we can give away and we bowled very tightly right through the innings. Brendan took 1 wickets for only 6 runs in 3 overs. Noah took 2 wickets as well in his 3 over spell, bowling some amazing deliveries. Will Hale took 1 wicket for 4 runs in his 2 overs and Matthew took 1 wicket for 9 runs in his two overs and Ben took 1 wicket for 8 runs in his two overs. Everyone else bowled really well and Broxbourne only got to 94 for 8 wickets in their 20 overs. The fielding was better tonight as well despite a few injuries and Luke kept wicket particularly well only conceding 4 byes and making 2 run outs.

Noah and Dylan opened the batting and after a miscommunication Dylan was out first ball. It is extremely rare that you see the non facing batsman out first ball without even facing a ball but this gave us a shaky start. Wickets tumbled quite quickly and we soon found ourselves at 22 for 3 wickets. Jake and Will Dommett came together at this point and made the very best of some mixed bowling. Jake retired on 31 not out from just 20 balls. JP was unlucky to get run out quite quickly, leaving Will Dommett and Will Hale with a very comfortable run rate to achieve. We managed to knock the required runs off in 15 overs with Will D on 24 not out and Will H on 9 not out.

Very solid performance tonight, difficult to pick a man of the match. Split three ways - Noah and Brendan for awesome bowling and Jake for the fastest 30 retired this season.
