We won the toss and chose to bat first but things started poorly as Toby was run out by a direct hit early on. Edward and Jake steadied the ship for a while before Edward was bowled off his legs for 11. Matthew Crowther and William Hale both played poor shots to be bowled without scoring bringing Archie in and he and Jake put on 42 runs, thanks in part to some wayward bowling but also some good shots. Archie was bowled for 13, Jake retired for a well made 25 not out and this brought together Will Dommett (15 not out) and JP Dunphy (5 not out) who saw us the close for 120-5 which seemed a defendable total on what was a difficult wicket. Unfortunately our bowling was in general very poor with far too many loose deliveries which they hit to all parts and they passed our score after only 14 overs with the loss of only 1 wicket taken by Edward. This leaves us having to beat Broxbourne in our last match to have a chance of qualifying for the semi-finals.
