Having been asked to bat first Jake Anders and Toby Warnes started confidently with both hitting 4 boundaries and retiring on 25 not out and this was followed by Matthew Crowther scoring 14 quickly and Archie smashing 5 fours to also make 25 not out. Harry Bannister made a quick 13 and although we lost a few late wickets scored an impressive 144-4 in our 20 overs.
This total never looked in danger so we opted to give everyone except the keeper 2 overs each with Harry Bannister taking the honours with 3 for 4. Will Dommett took the first wicket caught by Toby who also produced a brilliant piece of fielding to run out their No3 and then finished with 3 wickets for himself including bowling his brother Bertie who was filling in for our opposition along with Alex Bromham. One negative note was we managed to give away 33 runs in wides and no balls which could be costly against a stronger side - we do need to be more consistent in our bowling.
