U13s Win away to St Margaretsbury

This match was won by a superb team effort with every member of the team contributing. We inserted the hosts and restricted them to 113 off their 20 overs with some great bowling and fielding. Our opponents batted well and punished any bad balls with aggressive hitting and only. excellent death bowling from Amber, Liam and Aidan stopped them posting a more imposing total.

Wickets were shared between Kieran, Ed, Josh, Amber and Sam whose wicket came in a maiden over. Special mention to Calum in the field who brave and tenacious fielding kept the runs down as the batters were not prepared to take on his arm and to Murray behind the stumps who took 2 excellent catches and overall tidy work kept the extras down.

We started our run chase well and were in control despite losing Liam to a very sharp caught and bowled. However when we lost Kieran and Murray to consecutive balls and with Aidan retired 30no shortly after we needed the middle order perform. Thankfully Amber played a great captains role and supported by aggressive batting by Toby the runs kept flowing. Nerves were jangling when Toby fell to a good catch and Amber was given out in unfortunate circumstances but Josh calmed everyone with consecutive 4's off his first 2 deliveries and even when he was bowled shortly after the sensible batting and running by Adam and Ed saw us home with 2 overs to spare.
