U14s v Welwyn

We lost the toss and were put into bat by Welwyn. MattHew Lambert and JP opened with Matthew surviving well against good bowling from Welwyn to make 13. There were good batting performances from WillDommett who made 15 , Will Hale who made a rapid 31 including some 6s, and Luke Ricketts who is in a strong run of form with the bat, holding the innings together making 26 not out. We had a reasonable total of 126 all out but on a very small pitch were boundaries are plentiful.

Welwyn made the best of the small field and some loose bowling at times to rapidly knock off the required runs with a string of batsmen retiring along the way. JP bowled tightly and took the only wicket for us on a tough night.
