Batting first on Friday evening, the Preston top order dominated the home bowling attack. We had few answers to players who have played regularly in adult cricket. They hit the ball hard, put the bad ball away to the boundary and were able to rotate the strike at will by finding gaps in the field and running well.
They played to their potential and sometimes you have to accept that you are playing against a very good batting unit. Batters take note - that was an object lesson in how to approach your batting.
Credit to our bowlers for sticking to their task on a wicket that helped stroke play.
When the opposition post 167 in 20 overs, bowling figures will never be good reading but mentions to Ben and Griff for some attacking spin bowling.
Facing such a large total is always a challenge and built around another good performance from Murray (40 retired) who grew into his innings, positive shots and keen running from both Calum(11) and Kieran(19) gives good encouragement.
We finished on 104 for 5.
Hope you're looking forward to match 4 at Hertford
