I have pleasure in announcing the details of this year’s dinner. As its principal guest, the Club is delighted to welcome Matthew Hoggard, the England, Yorkshire and Leicestershire fast-medium pace bowler. Matthew made his England test debut against West Indies in 2000 and went on to play in 67 test matches, 26 ODIs and 57 T20s. In tests he took 248 wickets with a best analysis of 7 for 61. He was a valuable member of the 2005 Ashes winning England team. The Dinner will be compered by the highly entertaining and irrepressible Roger Dakin, former England hockey player and coach. He is a renowned and highly regarded MC and will be guaranteed to raise a laugh or two, sometimes at his own expense but more likely at the expense of others.

Tickets for the dinner are priced at £40, which includes a three course meal, cheese and biscuits and tea/coffee. Tables will be arranged to seat ten people. Once again, to launch the evening in style, there will be a reception, generously sponsored by Weston Homes Plc. at 7.00pm. There is also a licensed, pay bar and wine and other drinks for the table can be ordered on the night. The dress code for the Dinner is lounge suits.

As interest in the Dinner is likely to be high, tickets will be available on a first come, first served basis. To secure your place(s) at the dinner, please complete and return the attached form with your payment and your menu preferences directly to Elaine Sedgwick at the address shown below. Payment should be made by cheque please, payable to Bishop’s Stortford Cricket Club. The closing date is FRIDAY 23RD MARCH 2018.
