U14s Girls Win first league game of the season

Boxmoor won the toss and fielded. Stortford steadily accumulated runs with Boxmoor's mix of more experienced cricketers and some younger girls providing a broad range of bowling for the girls to negotiate. the two strongest bating performances coming from Frances and Suzannah who each scored 12 not out, Millie was unlucky to be well caught twice despite some strong shots, especially as Frances caught one of them substituting for the opposition!

In reply Boxmoor batted steadily and were getting close to the Stortford target but key wickets from Frances (2-4) and Poppy (2-11 playing 3 years above her age) pegged back Boxmoor to secure the win. Well done girls the spirit and the enthusiasm was excellent. Lessons to learn in executing scoring shots to the wide balls whilst keeping out the good balls I think key to everyone's development.
