Marie was captain and Radlett won the toss and elected to field.
First and highest scoring pair were Jessica and Malli, Jessica had an amazing first over hit three 4’s and whilst Malli was unlucky with a wicket in her first over the girls finished on 225. Next pair were Zoe and Lilly, Zoe hit three 4’s and Lilly one but both girls were run out, at the end of their over’s the total was 244. Lea and Florence next and their bowlers bowled the greatest number of wides making it difficult for our girls to gain momentum, but they worked hard and soon racked up the runs to end on 259. Final pair were Marie and Alicia both hitting 4’s and working well together to gain single and double runs, Alicia was caught out with a high hit ball into the field and they finished the first innings on 280.
The second innings saw Radlett mainly batting with plastic bats do exceptionally well in scoring five 6’s! Even though they delivered more wides (16) in the first innings then we did in the second they finished ahead on 314 to Stortford’s 280.
I felt our fielding was better and the Stortford girls have got to be pleased with their performance even if it wasn’t a win as they communicated well in the field, with some great catches especially from Zoe B. Report by Zoe Pyle
