St M v BSCC U11

The U11 team produced another fine all round performance to make it 6 wins out of 6 8-a-side games. We batted first with Harrison and Oliver giving us a strong start hitting 4 boundaries and scoring 36 without losing a wicket. Freddie and Luca then cam up against their star fast bowler and did brilliantly well to take us to 240 getting out once each. Freddie also took a painful blow on the finger but he bravely carried on, despite being in severe pain, to finish his overs with a couple of good singles. Will and skipper Thomas added another 24 runs with Will getting out twice but also hitting 4 boundaries. William and Joe finished the innings strongly despite Joe being bowled once we finished on 289-5 in our 16 overs. Unfortunately Freddie was not fit enough to field but our opposition kindly leant us a extra fielder. Everyone bowled really well and we continually took wickets (Harrison 2-13, Will 1-20, Thomas 2-8, Joe 2-7) but the best thing was our fielding as we got 4 run outs including 2 direct hits and even 1 where wicketkeeper Oliver ran all the way to the boundary and fizzed in a great return with St M batsman looking for 2. So 11 wickets in all meant their score was 213-11 giving us a win by 76 runs!!
