It was another tight finish to an U12B game tonight, with the match going to the final ball for the third time in a row! Fortunately the rain just about held off for us to get a full game in.
All the players got to bat and bowl, which was ideal, with some excellent individual performances:
- 19* from Omar Sain, 18* from Oscar Gouldson, 13* from Joel Bagnall and 16 from Jake Curtis.
-2 wickets each for Oscar Gouldson, Fraser Swanson and Fraser Hardie.
There was also a first ever wicket for Barnaby Tattum, and impressive debuts for Harry Thompson and Fraser Hardie.
Another positive was the excellent fielding, every single catching opportunity was taken and the general fielding was solid.
Without a doubt, the highlight of the day was an extraordinary catch from WK Matt Reader. Matt was standing up to the stumps off Fraser Hardie, when Jamie Paramo (the batsmen) drove hard, thick edging the ball, and Matt somehow managed to get a glove onto it and flick it in the air, before diving and catching it before it hit the floor!
Overall, it was another really enjoyable game where all the boys got a good game. Here’s hoping for more of the same!
