It was another emphatic win for the U12s in the Herts league as we comfortably won at Sawbridgeworth tonight.
We lost the toss and were put in to bat on a slightly sticky wicket. Ben Foster and Charlie Laking renewed their opening partnership and batted well together both rotating the strike well and scoring the occasional boundary. Ben ended up being bowled for 23 whilst Charlie went on to retire (31*).
Another excellent partnership was built between Harry Pigram and Zac Saunders as they put on 70 runs for the 3rd wicket, albeit a fair few of those were extras. Harry was very unlucky to be run out from a direct hit from the boundary for 25, whilst Zac was caught for 17 trying to up the run rate. We lost a flurry of late wickets in an effort to score quickly, finishing with 135-7.
Harry Pigram and Lucas Dordoy opened the bowling and did excellently with Harry taking 1 wicket and Lucas taking 3 wickets for just 3 runs! We then proceeded to give everyone a couple of overs each, with wickets falling throughout the Sawbo innings. There was a wicket each for Jake Curtis, Zac Saunders, Charlie Laking, Ben Foster and two wickets for TJ Tyndall.
It was a very solid team performance with everyone contributing something to the win.
We now move to the two T10 matches tomorrow at Hertford, which will decide if we qualify for the Herts league Quarter-Finals!
