The U12s made it 6 wins out of 6 today with a very convincing win over Sawbridgeworth.
The match didn’t start convincingly at all as we elected to bat first and were 9-2 after 4 overs! However an excellent partnership from Ben Foster and Charlie Laking (both 30* retired) put us well on top. Zac Saunders (also 30* retired) and Paddy Ainsworth-Ledwidge (12*) meant we finished strongly too, achieving 150-2 from our 20 overs.
We were never really in danger of losing as we started well with Paddy taking 2 early wickets and pressure built from Ben. All the bowlers got a chance to bowl with the highlight being Jake Curtis’ fantastic spell of 2 overs, 2 wickets for just 3 runs! A mention also for Charlie Laking who took his first ever wicket. The best figures were Paddy’s with 3-10.
Our next Herts League game isn’t for a couple of weeks, but let’s hope we keep the same momentum going!
Special thanks to Pete and Simon who covered me whilst I was at a work meeting!
