Cricket East are putting on Young Leaders in Cricket courses and would like to
provide your son or daughter the opportunity to join the programme.

Now in its 8th year and has seen over 800 young people go through the programme.

Its purpose is to give the opportunity for Young People between 14 and 16, to acquire skills and competency in leadership that will allow them to volunteer within the community of their
cricket club and/or school. And to retain young people between u14-u15 (year 9 &10) in cricket as a sport by investing quality time and resources into a specialised programme.

Requirements of Young Leaders:

• Attendance on the 5 modules:

Coaching (2x 3hrs)
Umpiring and Scoring (3hrs)
Grounds Keeping (3hrs)
First Aid (3hrs)
Fundraising

• 20 hrs Volunteering at Club or School

Benefits to the Young Leaders:

• Gain certificates in Coaching, Umpiring and Scoring, Grounds Keeping and First Aid
from ECBCA/ACO/ICO and first aid provider.
• Develop Cricket Leader and Life Skills from volunteer at club or school
• Become Role Model for younger members of the club
• Gain good experience for CV or University Personal Statement
• Attend an awards ceremony at Lord

The programme asks for a small contribution of £40 towards the running costs of the
qualifications from the participants.

Graeme Sumner or David Hardcastle know by Sunday 25th February, they will pass on your details to Young Leaders in Cricket who will be running an Enthuse meeting where you will find out further information, these are being run at the following clubs within Cricket East:

Tuesday 6th March 7pm – Peterborough Town CC
Wednesday 7th March 7pm – Eaton Socon CC
Thursday 8th March 7pm – West Herts CC
